First son of Oba Olua of Benin and heir apparent to the throne. Left Benin with the first sons of the seventy Benin chiefs to found the Iwere (Warri) Kingdom. Was the first Olu to have contact with the Portuguese Merchants who visited the area in the 16th Century. Joined his ancestors at Ijala and was buried there. Thus Ijala became the Royal Cemetery.
